Open Skies. A different way to launch a new airline.

Case Study

British Airways was launching a unique point-to-point, all business-class airline called OpenSkies. BA wanted to start promoting OpenSkies before it officially launched, so, alongside WebLiquid Group, we helped BA reveal the Open Skies brand in a non-traditional way: with a blog. Through content and videos, the blog exposed the making of the airline to the public — from purchasing and painting planes, to hiring employees. The blog allowed the audience to directly communicate with OpenSkies, ask questions, and make suggestions — some of which were adopted and incorporated into the airlines’ service offering. As a result of this unique brand launch, OpenSkies created brand loyalists months before the company actually opened for business.
